3. Sand Hollow State Park

Sand Hollow State Park is in the southwestern corner of Utah. It’s close to the state borders with both Arizona and Nevada.

Antelope Island State Park is just under an hour’s drive from Salt Lake City.
It is a refuge of rangelands floating on a desert sea.
You’re allowed to bring your pup to most areas of the park, but you must keep Fido on a six-foot leash at all times.

There are several fee-free days in 2023. The next one (and the last one of the year) is on Veterans Day, Saturday November 11.

Flaming Gorge NRA itself is around 207,000 acres. This gorgeous outdoor playground is approximately an hour’s drive north of the town of Vernal, Utah. And it’s around 2 hours 45 minutes from Salt Lake City.
